Our Program
We draw from over 12 years of experience educating teachers to offer you the most comprehensive training in the practice and teaching of yoga. Our faculty is extremely well respected throughout the yoga community and within their respective fields of expertise. We have an excellent reputation for training teachers authentically and our graduates leave our program with extensive knowledge of the yoga tradition, fundamental skill and confidence they need to become great yoga teachers and enjoy a lifelong practice.
Our Curriculum
Our program places the physical exercise of yoga into its philosophical, anatomical and subtle energetic contexts encouraging trainees to cultivate a true understanding of the practice. A large portion of our curriculum has been passed down through unbroken sacred lineages. These kinds of teachings are invaluable to you as a practitioner/teacher and makes our program truly unique.
Graduates of our program will:
- Deepen their existing practice and be inspired to continue their education
- Acquire a complete and true understanding of the yoga tradition
- Learn to properly sequence their classes using the principles of Vinyasa Krama
- Learn how to incorporate the subtle energetics of the tradition including pranayama, meditation and guided relaxation into their asana classes
- Learn to adjust safely and make modifications for any students
- Have an opportunity to be mentored by our director
- Have an opportunity for an internship/teaching position at Prana Yoga
- Be automatically eligible for Yoga Alliance Registration (RYT-200)

Program Requirements
Prana Yoga is committed to upholding a high standard of quality for our teacher training program. We require applicants to have a minimum of 1 year consistent yoga asana practice and a solid foundation of basic yoga postures. Students do not benefit from learning the basics of yoga while simultaneously learning to teach.
Certification Requirements
Our trainees are evaluated on attendance, comprehension, practice teaching, homework assignments and must pass the final exam. There is a required amount of practicum (asana classes) during the training that is included in your tuition and must be completed by the end of the program.
